My friend,
Dimmi, tipped me off about a
Food Co-op in Utah. She had briefly mentioned it before, but from my very preliminary (and apparently very limited) Google search, I didn't see anything of the sort in Utah County, so I put it out of my mind. Then she decided to join and blogged about it in depth (see link above), including the fact that there is a pick up location in Provo! I was very excited. Today was my first pick-up day. This is what I got:
- 1 2-lb. pkg Chicken Thighs
- 1 1-lb pkg. Top Sirloin Fajita Strips
- 1 24-oz pkg. Boneless Pork Chops
- 1 1-lb pkg. Lean Ground Beef
- 1 bunch broccoli
- 6 oranges
- 1 2-lb bag of carrots
- 2 avacados
- 6 peaches
- 7 plums
- 3 green bell peppers
- 1 head romaine lettus
- 1 Stone Ground's Artisan Wheat Loaf
- 16. oz. Red Beans
- 1 Nutty Guy's Snack Sampler (includes one bag each of: almonds, sunflower seeds, cashews, Swiss Mix)
Grand total for all of the above? $35.
It's also quite tasty.
Wow! That is amazing! I wish I lived in Utah! :-)
